IFE 2012 kicks off with a record number of new franchise attendees

Posted by on May 17, 2012 in Events |

The International Franchise Expo officially opened today, 17 May 2012, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. WSI Franchise was there and ready to meet the thousands of individuals looking for exciting business opportunities. On day one there was a nice buzz amongst all the attendees and exhibitors with a positive atmosphere surrounding the day. Bizcommunity reported that this year saw the highest number of new franchise concepts exhibiting, including various international brands. There are a lot of new faces and brands at this year’s expo and we had a good time browsing through all the stands. The general consensus was that business opportunities in Africa were still strong despite economic uncertainties abroad. IFE 2012 felt much bigger than previous years. Over 80 franchise and business opportunities are being showcased at this year’s exhibition ranging from white collar franchising such as WSI to business consulting, food industry and service related franchises. IFE 2012 is taking place from today until Saturday 19 May from 10h00 – 18h00 with an entrance fee of R50 at the door. WSI Franchise is at stand B10 where you can chat to our WSI Internet Consultants regarding what we do and what being a part of WSI is all about. Let us know what you think of IFE 2012 on Twitter by using the hastags #IFE2012 and #WSIFranchise in your tweets or follow the conversation on our Twitter wall.       Please follow and like...

Posted by on May 10, 2012 in Business Opportunity, Events |

WSI Internet Marketing will be exhibiting at IFE 2012, the biggest franchise expo in Africa. The International Franchise & Entrepreneurs Expo (IFE) 2012 will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, Gauteng on 17-19 May. Now in its 20th year, the IFE expo is the official exhibition of the Franchise Association of Southern Africa (FASA). Over the years the show has become renowned for showcasing quality franchising opportunities for entrepreneurial-minded individuals. Franchising is also known to have higher success rates for new business owners than independent businesses. FASA has put forth some interesting facts on franchising: Franchising contributes 11.8% to South Africa’s GDP – more than many other sectors like agriculture and manufacturing? Franchising opportunities span 17 different business sectors, with over 500 franchised systems with a network of almost 30 000 franchisees. New business trends are the incubators of future big brands and franchising is the stone that causes the ripple effect of small business growth. Interested in owning your own business? WSI is looking to expand its growing franchise base across South Africa and to add to their existing franchises. If you are entrepreneurial and serious about business, then you cannot miss this opportunity to network with like-minded individuals who are self motivated and driven to succeed. WSI Internet Marketing is for anyone interested in a white collar franchise with a global footprint. Pop in at our stand to learn about what we do and to find about the digital marketing solutions we offer. Chat to our consultants to hear their first hand experiences and find out if you would be a good fit for owning one of our franchises. IFE 2012 is open from 10h00 to 18h00 daily with an entrance fee of R50 per person. You can find WSI at stand B10 or follow live blogging and tweets from the event. 10 Steps for Choosing the Right Franchise

Posted by on May 25, 2011 in Franchise |

There are many well-known franchise opportunities available in almost every industry you can think of. Some are well established with proven systems and support structures in place, while others are relatively new. Choosing the franchise that suits you will reduce risk and raise the levels of success. While specialist advisors are a necessity to assist you throughout your business venture, the following steps will help you to evaluate any franchise opportunity you are considering. 1. KNOW YOURSELF The first topic of research will be you. Consider your strengths and weaknesses. What is your level of knowledge, where might you need development and are your skills transferable? Will you be able to manage the high level of personal energy required to get yourself started? Are you a team player, or do you prefer to work alone? Will you require staff? Only after you have analyzed the depth of commitment required to start a new business venture will you be in a position to make a specific choice. 2. KNOW YOUR FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS The costs of a franchise can vary considerably. While smaller investments can be affordable through personal assets, most potential franchise owners will need to consider additional borrowing. The increase in small business ventures have compelled many banks to have business start up kits, which include information on the requirements of starting a business, self evaluation reports and financial planning forms. No matter how much security you can offer, banks need to be convinced that loans can be serviced. What the proposed business can afford is more important than what you have. 3. KNOW WHAT FRANCHISING IS Find out all you can about franchising. In particular focus on the unique relationship that exists between franchisees and franchisors. Look for a Franchise Association closest to you to obtain guidance from. Once again the banks can provide a wealth of information in this regard; it is now within their interests to build relationships in an extremely competitive financial environment by providing separate departments that serve the franchise industry. Search the internet, but be aware that different countries will have different compliance issues. Even if you have a preference this early in the game, research is still a vital process that needs to be completed. There is also the chance that research will open up alternatives you may not have previously considered. 4. KNOW THE INDUSTRY You have already analyzed your skills and knowledge; now look at the different types of businesses that you feel are potentially suitable. Identify the different companies that are offering opportunities in the area. Consider the requirements of the proposed industry and see if it matches your skills and aspirations. It is not necessary for you to...

A recap of 3 Busy weeks

Posted by on May 10, 2010 in Business Opportunity | 2 comments

I don’t normally blog about about what I do personally but the past 3 weeks have been really great. Being in the Internet Marketing industry allows me to travel and conduct my business from almost anywhere in the world. Mighty Man Conference It started with me attending the Mighty Man Conference outside Greytown with my son Francois Junior & son in law Nick. We were with a group of 16 friends amongst a crowd of over 250,000 “men”. Here is an aerial photo of the venue and the campsite. Just like Woodstock in the 70s. One message that struck home was that we are all too busy in our jobs today and Angus Buchan said we should find more time for ourselves. He coined the phrase “I am to busy to be in a hurry”. I like that as it suggests one should not be distracted by rush jobs that always seem to take priority. Orlando Straight after the weekend my wife Marianna & I flew to Orlando where I was conducting a 2-day Internet Marketing training session for 45 USA Internet Consultants. We had a free day on either side of the training and went to Epcot & Disney when we arrived. It was a great session and meeting the WSI Internet Consultants again just strengthens the networking opportunity that the WSI Franchise offers. We are indeed one big family and we freely share information that makes us stronger as a group. After the training we were scheduled to travel to Bogota, Colombia for another training session there. In the morning before our flight I booked Marianna & I to do some bass fishing. Captain Skip picked us up and we had a great morning of fishing before our flight to Bogota. You can see who caught all the fish. Bogota, Colombia We arrived at Bogota late on Saturday and thank goodness we ordered transport from Carlos Sandoval of Elite Car Service Bogotá. www.elitecarservicebogota.com. I can highly recommend his service. He fetched us at the airport, was really friendly and told us about travelling in Bogota on the way to the hotel. The next day Hugo Valderrama & his son Carlos Valderrama fetched us from the hotel and took us on a tour of Bogota. They were such great hosts and made us feel so welcome that we definitely would like to go back to Colombia. Here is a photo of the Colombian WSI Franchisees. And 60 seconds of Spanish introduction by Hugo Valderrama. After the training Karen Sullivan-Correa & her husband Umberto took us for dinner with Violeta Otava. We had a great meal and felt safe walking the 10 blocks to the restaurant. Colombia was...
